How I Work
The first step is simply getting in touch. From there, we’ll arrange a free 20-minute video call on WhatsApp or Google Meet, with no obligation to continue.
This call gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. It also helps me understand what has brought you to counselling and ensure that I’m the best placed therapist to provide the support you deserve.
If you decide to go ahead, our sessions will be a space where you can talk openly and honestly, without feeling judged or pressured.
And just to clear up a common misconception about therapy, it doesn’t have to feel awkward or clinical. You won’t be lying on a couch! There will, however, be a very comfortable chair waiting for you.
Think of therapy as a space where you can bring the real version of yourself. The one who might be tired of “holding it all together” or simply wants somewhere safe to make sense of things. I’m here for the real and raw version of you.
Some sessions may be emotional, some may be empowering. You might cry, you can swear, and along the way, there may be laughter, too! Most of all, I aim to help you feel lighter, clearer and less alone with what you’re carrying.
You can always be YOU with me.
Therapeutic Approaches
Alongside talking therapy, I may also draw on additional therapeutic approaches where appropriate.
Rewind Therapy
Rewind therapy, also known as The Rewind Technique, is a gentle and effective approach often used to help people process traumatic or distressing memories. Perhaps you have a phobia holding you back, or a traumatic experience that’s always on your mind.
The technique works by helping your brain safely reprocess memories so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity, allowing you to move forward and be more in control. The best part is that you don’t need to share any of the details of your trauma with me, unless you want to.
EFT Tapping
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often referred to as Tapping, is a therapeutic approach that combines elements of psychology with gentle tapping on specific points of the body. Many people find it helpful for reducing anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm.
EFT can help the nervous system settle more quickly and can be a powerful tool for improving emotional regulation, helping you feel more balanced and grounded.
